Joyce Bishop, a founding member of the Berea Fine Arts Club and ardent supporter of the Berea Little Red School House, passed away on February 12, 2017, at her home in Florida at the age of 93. Joyce inspired the Fine Arts Club to purchase the Berea District 7 School at auction in 1935. In 1975 the building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. She was a Trustee with Honorary Status of The Berea Little Red School House Foundation, Inc., the present stewards of the building. Joyce continued to provide us with inspiration and support until the end. We thank her for her vision. She will be missed, but her dream lives on. |
